Oblong's collective meeting is at 4.30pm and will be followed by a film showing. We haven't decided which film to watch but here are suggestions so far:

Pan's Labyrinth - a gothic fairytale set against the background of the Spanish Civil War (in Spanish with subtitles).

V for Vendetta - Set against the futuristic landscape of totalitarian Britain, the story of a mild-mannered young woman joining the mysterious "V" to rise up against tyranny and oppression.

After the meeting will be an Oblong social event, current plan is to go somewhere nice (weather permitting!) for a Pot-luck picnic! (everyone bring some food and pot-luck what you end up with).

Oblong would like to welcome back Jess Hanlon and the Knitalong group. As before it will run on a Thursday from 6-8 from the Oblong building, starting July the 5th. All abilities, ages and genders are welcome. Knitalong is about knitting, nattering, friendship, cups of tea and coffee, sharing skills and of course having fun.

Oblong's annual general meeting is on Friday 15th June at 4pm. The AGM is a chance to find out more about what other Oblong groups have been doing, to have a gander at the new Annual Report and to vote in the Directors of Oblong. If you’re not up for doing a little presentation, then we still want your gob for the lovely buffet we’ll be putting on. We’re also looking for new Directors, so if you can spare at least one evening a month and would like to take a more active role in Oblong’s plans and policy, let us know.
