Food Co-op

The Food Co-Op works by purchasing bulk quantites of healthy, mainly organic, vegan food direct from wholesalers to sell on at cost price. This allows people to make large savings compared to shop prices, so you can eat well without emptying your wallets! There's plenty of fair trade products and environmentally friendly household goods too.

You can make monthly bulk orders to fill your shelves, or use the Co-Op Cupboard in Oblong to stock up on things like soya milk, pulses, washing up liquid, toothpaste, chocolate, nuts, grains, etc.

Open Thursdays 6-8pm

Lembas are the wholesalers we order from, based in Sheffield. Everything you see in their online catalogue is available from the Co-Op. The catalogue has a good search facility, so take a look around!

A bit of history: The Food Co-Op ran successful bulk orders from Suzanne's living room for a couple of years. Grants from the Scarman Trust's Community Champions Fund allowed for a stocked cupboard shop, and coincided with a move to Oblong. The Co-Op needs volunteers to help open the Co-Op Cupboard,get in touch if you're interested.
